Austria – Camp Incredible
Fifty five children participated in a week of camp this summer in Gutenstein, Austria. This was a ministry of Vienna Christian Center. The kids learned new songs, met new friends, worked on crafts, ate junk food, played games, watched movies, swam, and most importantly, met God in a new way…a deeper way!
Evening services were simple, with nothing to stir the emotions except the presence of the Holy Spirit. The kids were hungry for God from the beginning and God feeds His hungry children. God’s presence was in the Monday night service from the very beginning of worship. The kids were listening attentively, and at the end of the service, with nothing else but an invitation to pray, to go deeper in prayer, the kids went forward and began to pray and weep before the Lord.
That night, AGWM personnel, Kerri Brammeier, asked a 7-year-old girl what God did for her. She said, “He made me cry.” Kerri asked her why she was crying and she replied, “I went to your church last week for the first time and my mom heard about the camp and signed me up and tonight God made me cry like never before.” Concerned, Kerri asked if she was okay and got the following response, “Oh, Yes! I never knew I could cry tears of joy!”
Once again on Tuesday evening, the kids were attentively listening to the message that was given, and once again a simple invitation to pray was given. The children went forward to pray and cried out to God for more of His presence in their lives. The pastor asked for a closing song to be played and all the children began to sing. When the song was over, the pastor was going to close in prayer, but the children were not done; they continued to sing worship songs with their arms raised to the Lord. It was the most beautiful sound, like an angelic choir.
Thursday evening the leaders had a chance to pray one final time with all the children. A little 6-year-old girl came up to Kerri and said,
“Every time I close my eyes and pray, I see Jesus!”
