Channeling The Energy

Dear Friends:

Young people have so much energy! Every parent or grandparent of a teenager can testify to this. The key question that parents, grandparents, and people who work with teenagers ask is "how can we channel this energy into constructive use?"

One of the ways that has proven to be quite a blessing in Europe is the Master's Commission (MC) movement. MC is designed to challenge young post-high school grads with a year or two of committed service to the church. This movement in the States has grown quite large and sophisticated. MC started in Europe in 2000 in Copenhagen, Denmark. In the last five years this number has grown to 12, with schools in Denmark, Sweden, Austria, England, Ireland, Spain, and France.

The MC is challenging young people across Europe to give up themselves to God and reach Europeans with the gospel. The intense emphasis on discipleship and evangelism is forming young Europeans into strong believers enabled to continue to share the message of Jesus with their generation.

The MC across Europe recently began, just a few days ago, yet another new year. In a day and age where the energy of young people can be used for all types of destructive influences, it is encouraging to know that scores of young people across Europe are channeling that energy for the good of mankind and for the glory of God.
