Director's Message
by Greg Mundis
Dear
Friends:
Gideon's Army
Europe-what kinds
of images come to mind? Do you see the Eiffel Tower?
Do you see the Leaning Tower of Pisa? Do you see the
Tower of London? Do you see the Rome Coliseum? What
images do you see?
Image is such an important part of
society, but image is not necessarily reality. Many
people do not see that Europe is a continent that needs
spiritual help. Assemblies of God missionaries and missionary
associates, working alongside national pastors and laity,
are committed to reaching the peoples of Europe with
the gospel of Jesus Christ. Reaching into 33 different
countries, with over 100 language groups and 100 plus
ethnic groups, is certainly a huge task. What can so
few do with a task that is so daunting?
Gideon probably asked himself this
question when his 30,000-man army was reduced to 300
men to fight the Amalekites who numbered as the sands
of the sea. What can so few do in light of so many?
The answer in our context is obvious-God, plus us, is
a majority, and that is where we need your help.
You ask, "Why do you need my help?"
We need your help to pray that the Lord of the Harvest
would thrust forth laborers into His harvest field.
We need you to pray that the Lord will protect those
laborers who are in the harvest field, and we need you
to pray that the Lord will open the hearts of men and
women in this great continent to receive the saving
knowledge of the gospel of Jesus Christ.
God is at work. Just a few days ago,
my wife and I were in the middle of a trip in Europe.
We stand amazed at what God is doing in Belgium, Spain,
and Romania-three of the countries we just visited.
God is working in the cities, on the
campuses, and with the children of Europe.
Thanks for praying. We appreciate it.
Your colleague for souls in Europe,
God Bless ,
Greg Mundis
