Royal Rangers and the
Guinness Book of World Records
Dear Friends:
Royal
Rangers (RR) is a ministry that reaches across the
United States and in over 65 nations around the world.
In Europe, it motivates boys and girls spiritually through
Bible study and memorization, devotionals, and Christian
role models. Boys and girls are strengthened mentally
by an advanced awards-based weekly program. Further,
the boys and girls increase their physical prowess by
participation in age-specific activities and recreation.
Finally, they are introduced to church, community, and
nature-related activities to develop their social skills
and awareness. (For further information, please see
http://royalrangers.ag.org/)
RR is a tremendous ministry in Europe.
In fact, this past summer they held a camp meeting in
Germany. 10,600 registered campers attended, along with
some 2,000 guests. There were delegations from 13 different
countries. This camp was the largest RR event held anywhere
in the world in this ministry’s 43-year-old history.
The boys and girls who attended this
camp broke a world record. The Rangers in attendance
set a new record in the Guinness Book of World Records
by writing the entire Bible by hand on strips of parchment
paper in less than 15 minutes! The previous record was
50 minutes.
There are two other recognitions that
are noteworthy. First, while one international scouting
event held in Germany was more numerous, the camp was
the largest nationally organized camping-type activity
ever held in Germany. Second, the largest RR outpost
in the world is in Germany, with over 1,000 members.
With the worthy goals of motivating
boys and girls to excel spiritually, physically, and
socially, we rejoice in the success of the RR program
in Europe, particularly in Germany. We highly recommend
the program to our readers.
