Are All Swiss Neutral?
My wife Sandie and I had the privilege of attending the Swiss Pentecostal Mission Conference in Winterthur, Switzerland, last month.
The Swiss Pentecostal Movement in the German-speaking part of Switzerland consists of approximately 65 churches. We were asked to participate in the conference and address the changing demographics and increasing immigration population in Europe.
I am glad to report that not all Swiss are neutral. We had the opportunity to see 3000-4000 Swiss German Pentecostals worshipping the Lord and making commitments to “go into all the earth to preach the gospel.”
Reinhard Bonnke was the evening speaker and shared this interesting story:
Bonnke’s great-grandfather was from East Prussia and knew nothing of the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ. He was suffering greatly from an ailment and was in his home thinking he was going to die. It “just so happened” that an Assemblies of God missionary in the area got lost and came upon the farmhouse where Reinhard Bonnke’s great-grandfather was living. He went in and prayed the prayer of faith for the man, who was miraculously healed, accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as his Savior, and was subsequently filled with the Holy Spirit. This incident brought Jesus and Pentecost into the Bonnke home, and the rest is history.
We thank God for our Assemblies of God missionaries, and we thank God for our sister fellowship’s missionaries in Switzerland. As I shared, they have 65 Pentecostal churches that support over 200 missionaries around the world. Europe is a mission field, but European Pentecostal Christians, in addition to reaching their Jerusalem, are also reaching out to their Judea, Samaria, and to the uttermost parts of the earth.
Are all Swiss neutral? I can affirm that the Christians are not neutral; they are on the side of Jesus Christ and doing a great work for the kingdom of God.
Thank you for your prayers for Europe.
Sincerely,
Greg Mundis
