The Director's Message

Can You Imagine?

Dear Friends:

Walk with me, if you will, through something that I, along with thousands of other individuals, had the privilege of experiencing just a few days ago at our first-ever World Missions Summit, an event specifically targeting college-age students.  I personally have never experienced something so moving, so exciting, so God-lead and Spirit-charged.

Can you imagine 3,500-plus college students, Masters Commission participants, and youth coming together in Louisville, Kentucky, for the great purpose of opening their hearts and lives to the Spirit of God for ministry around the world?

Can you imagine that 3,500-plus young people were in nightly services that went well into the hours of the night and yet would come to prayer and morning services at nine in the morning?

Can you imagine 3,500-plus young people roaming the halls of a convention center to visit various break-out rooms demonstrating different parts of the world and not skipping out to do other things?

Can you imagine that in the Europe region we hosted well over 1,000 students in six break-out sessions where our room could hold 180–200 people?

Can you imagine that these same college students would come to see a Europe presentation in the form of an Italian market square, complete with fountain, and that we asked these students (who paid their own way and registration fee) to throw coins into the fountain to help us provide literature for boys and girls in Bosnia-Hercegovina?

Can you imagine they gave over $600 for this literature? At 33 cents per book, this is a tremendous help for us.

Can you imagine that we received around 500 names of young people interested in missions in Europe? Can you imagine on Sunday morning, January 1, a call was given for college students and young people to come forward to dedicate up to a year of their life to overseas ministry and possibly a lifetime, and over 660 young people responded?

Can you imagine that during this event (from December 30 through January 2 of this year) these 3,500-plus young people and other guests gave an offering for a work in the second-largest city in Austria and for the college campuses of $83,000 in cash, credit cards, and checks, and $25,000 in pledges?

Yes, after this event I can imagine this. We are deeply grateful in World Missions for the heart and passion of the young people of the Assemblies of God. We see that this generation is serious about fulfilling the Great Commission. No price is too high, and no sacrifice is too great for them to reach this goal.

Can you imagine what the Lord will do in the next several years? I can hardly wait.

Thanks for your prayers for Europe,

Sincerely,

Greg Mundis
