Comic Book Evangelism
Ilir and Patti with PowerMark comic

I have befriended a wonderful family in a village right outside of Tirane and have been building a relationship with them for two years. Their 14-year-old grandson is studying English and he visits me to practice his English two times per week.

I asked Ilir if he had ever seen a cartoon (comic) book and he said "no". I had purchased a complete series of PowerMark Seeker comic books for our youth group but wanted to show them first to Ilir. (We can get Italian cartoons on the television in Albanian, but that is all he has ever seen.) He was spellbound when he saw the first comic book! He is asking me lots of wonderful questions about our faith.

Ilir is trying to get permission from his parents to come to the youth meetings. So far they have permitted him to come to one Sunday morning service. That Sunday he sat among strangers, paying close attention to every word that was spoken, very curious, and almost overcome with excitement. After the service he asked if there was anything he could do for us or for the church; he wanted to just stay at church. I was able to introduce him to the youth pastor. We are praying for this precious one to find the Way!
