Chuck and Marilyn Kackley, AGWM Personnel pastoring in Berlin, Germany rejoice in what God is doing through their Tuesday evening Bible study group. This meeting is scheduled from 7 to 8:15 PM and normally the German participants are quite punctual, both in coming and leaving on schedule. However, in recent times, the Bible study has been stretching to 10 PM on a regular basis. The interest in learning more of God is the cause of the people staying later, wanting to hear more.
When Chuck Kackley began teaching about the baptism of the Holy Spirit, many of these new Christians had questions. They are hungry for more of God. At a recent meeting, the study was about unconditional love. When Chuck explained the importance of our having unconditional love for others, just like God has for us, one of the regulars said, "That's true. That's exactly why I'm here today. No one else has ever accepted me like I have been here."
Many of the people come from dysfunctional family settings and have never in their lives experienced unconditional love. What a joy it has been for the Kackleys, not only to show them this love through actions, but to see them begin to understand that God truly accepts them where they are. As they draw closer to Him, they are beginning to show that love to others as well.
There were three people that were baptized recently in the church. Two of the three are regular attendees of the Bible study. A topic of discussion at the Bible study had been concerning being baptized after becoming a follower of Jesus as Savior. Although these two had been baptized as infants, they were able to see the importance of being baptized as a believer. This is a very hard decision for many to make. God's love is at work in Germany.
