 Dacice, a town of 6,000 residents in the Czech Republic, was the focus of 4 days of street witnessing of the youth group in the city of Brno. AGWM personnel, Jason Morrison tells of many encounters with a variety of people and their various beliefs of who or what God is. He relates the story of Milan, a drunk he met on the city square.
Milan spends all his time sitting on the square with his box of wine. Hearing that an American named Morrison was going to be speaking, he shouted out, "Jim Morrison??? He's dead. I have to come!" He came every night to the meetings and wanted to speak with Jason every night.
During prayer time on the second day of this outreach, Jason felt a heavy burden of prayer for Milan, sensing his pain and he wept before the Lord on Milan's behalf. That night when Milan came to sit beside Jason, his first words were, "My life hurts so bad..." He told about how his best friend committed suicide, his wife filed for divorce, his sister went crazy, etc. It was at that time he started drinking and he has not been completely sober in 3 years. Jason gave him a New Testament and he promised to read it and come back the next day.
The next day, the first thing out of his mouth was, "Your're a good guy. Last night I had planned to commit suicide, but you gave me this Bible. For the firs time in my life, I feel good among people." Milan kept coming to the meetings and started inviting his drunk friends.
Jason has received follow-up news from the mission station in Dacice. Milan has been coming regularly to the meetings along with a friend. He is still drinking, but every week he hears more about the love of Christ, and Jason is confident that in time, Milan will accept Christ and find deliverance from alcohol.
