History was made during the graduation ceremony of 2006 at the Evangelical Spanish Seminary. For the past 38 years, missionary personnel of the Assemblies of God World Missions have directed this Bible School. Everett Wilson served as interim director for the past two years.
At the recent graduation ceremony, a Spanish national, Jesus Caramés, was named the new director. Caramés comes with a wealth of experience to offer to this position. Four years ago he took over the extension Bible School which had been struggling. He restructured the program and gave the
extension program of the Seminary new life and vision. He previously
directed a national public school for 10 years.
Caramés is an ordained pastor of Federation of the Assemblies of God of Spain and pastored in El Ferrol, Galicia (northwest Spain) seven years. His theological training has been accomplished through the extension program of the Evangelical Spanish Seminary.
The General Superintendent of the Federation of the Assemblies of God of Spain, Juan Carlos Escobar, and other members of the executive committee prayed over Jesus and his wife Maria in the installation ceremony. Dan West, a former director of the Seminary expressed great joy in seeing the Bible School making this important transition. The future of the Evangelical Spanish Seminary is bright as it trains pastors and workers for the growing national church. The national church is supporting the seminary as never before.
