 In
Plaza del Sol, in the center of Madrid, is the marker
for Kilometer Zero of Spain. From that point, the distances
are measured on the roads radiating out to all of Spain.
It is on that spot that evangelism teams numbering up
to 50 participants are leading people to Christ.
Every week a team gathers there at
the Prayer and Evangelism Training Center, then go out
to preach in the open air, pass out Bibles and evangelistic
literature, talk with individuals, and pray with them
to accept Christ into their lives. The leader of this
ministry, Jacob Bock, shares the following stories of
what is happening at Kilometer Zero.
"Ricardo (29) was walking through
the plaza 2 weeks ago. Someone gave him a tract. He
hung around. Someone else went to him and talked to
him about eternity. Before you know it, he was being
prayed for. God did a work in his life. He was at church
the following Saturday and Sunday. The following Monday
he was back in the Plaza with us, passing out literature.
He is now part of our team. Last night at the PRAYER
AND EVANGELISM TRAINING CENTER Ricardo was there, sweeping
and mopping. He said he can hardly believe what has
happened. A couple of months ago God was the farthest
thing from his mind. He had never been to church in
his life. Now he is inviting his family to church.
The
Pastor of the International church told me that 6 new
people were in his church on Sunday after our Saturday
open-air evangelism!! One couple is from the Philippines.
We had talked to them 3 months ago on the street. They
just now visited his church for the first time.
A young man came running up to me last
night... 'Someone just prayed with me to accept Christ!!
Do you have a Bible I can give him?' I gave him one,
telling him to write a dedication in it to him and get
his name and address. He went bouncing away. Twenty
minutes later, he came bounding back. 'I prayed with
another one!!' I gave him another Bible to give away.
At midnight, after hours of evangelism,
we were heading down into the parking ramp. My co-worker
Dan turned to me and said, "Wow, it doesn't get
much better than this now, does it!"
