The church of Dresden-Gorbitz, Germany celebrated its third birthday in February. And this 3-year-old church is having a baby! Dresden-Gorbitz will mother a new church
plant in Dresden-Prohlis.
An initial outreach for this endeavor took place during this past Christmas season when
a number of missionary kids dramatized the Christmas story in pantomime in a market place.
The location was close to a street car stop and whenever people got off the street car,
singers began the performance by singing "Silent Night". Invitations were handed out
along with hot cider and the team then were able to converse with people who stopped.
After the outreach, AGWM personnel, Greg and Lisa Kuechler invited people to an "American
Christmas" in their home, serving cookies and other goodies. Several families from their large
apartment building came. The Kuechlers now have started a cell group that meets in their home.
Every week twelve to fourteen people meet together to study the Bible. They are planning on
starting Sunday morning services in April and are now looking for a suitable and affordable facility
to rent.
Two of the young adults from the Dresden-Gorbitz church will go to join this new church plant in
Dresden-Prohlis. One is a member of the worship team and so will help in the music ministry from
the start. Another couple who came to Dresden a year ago with a vision to plant a church will
work alongside the Kuechlers. The husband is British and the wife is German.
God has brought these church planters together and given them this vision as there are many
in Prohlis who need to hear about the Savior that He sent because of His love for them.
