Despite abnormally high temperatures, she pushed a stroller that held her 2 1/2-year-old child for twenty minutes to the train station. Forty-five minutes later, she arrived at the station in Ciney and again pushed the stroller twenty minutes uphill to the church. She had heard about the church and had come to the 4 PM service only to find that no one was there. The sign posted on the door indicated a change in service time to 10 AM. She retraced her strenuous steps and the following Sunday repeated the same journey. Not to be denied, she arrived at the church one hour before the service! AGWM Personnel Roger Myers greeted her, identifying himself as the pastor of the church. She replied, "My name is Catherine and I have come to get my life right with the Lord." Catherine rededicated her life to the Lord and became faithful to the church. Every Sunday, she came with her child, Laura, often in inclement weather. She began a job that obligates her to work on Sundays, but remains faithful to the Lord. The Myers continue in good contact with Catherine who attends worship services when her circumstances permit.
The young man sat on the front row of the church; his eyes glaring toward the small platform. He seemed to grasp every word that was said. An invitation was given for those who wished to accept Christ into their lives to come forward. Christophe came, sobbing brokenheartedly. As Pastor Roger Myers approached him for prayer, the smell of alcohol was strong on his breath and sadness dominated his countenance. He said "My mother died Friday; she will be buried tomorrow. I am a hopeless alcoholic. Can God help me?" Later, Christophe was admitted to a clinic for his alcohol problem. After a series of tests, he was diagnosed with liver cancer. Upon leaving the hospital, he came back to the church where he was anointed with oil and prayed for by Pastor Myers. God gloriously healed him from the dreadful disease that was threatening his life. A subsequent
visit to the hospital showed no traces of the cancer. He still has
some difficulties with the alcohol problem, but is doing much better. He comes to church and often asks for prayer. He is seeking God for complete deliverance from alcohol dependency and progress is being made.
A couple began attending the church who from all appearances looked like possible workers for the Lord. As they attended and moved closer to the Lord, God began to reveal things in a most dramatic way. Unfaithfulness, incest, abuse and much more surfaced. Then the couple separated. But that is not the end of the story! During their separation, the man became very depressed and contemplated suicide. The woman remained faithful to the Lord. After much counseling and prayer, they were reunited! God did a glorious healing and restoration in their lives. Each have ministries in the church and they also do team teaching. The joy of the Lord radiates from them. They constantly testify of their wonderful marriage relationship, that there is greater understanding for each other and that their love for the Lord is more intense.
