KIDS QUEST DRUG FREE HITS CZECH SCHOOLS

August 31, 2009

A small team presented a drug prevention program, Kids Quest Drug Free, in local schools in three cities of the Czech Republic.  Positive responses confirmed that this is a valuable and needed program for today's younger generation.  One teacher's evaluation speaks volumes about the impact the program is having.  "Excellent program, simple skits, understandable...In a time when alcohol attacks our children in the media in the form of deceitful advertisements, this program is a balm for the soul."

Several of the teachers invited the churches back next year to present the same program because there are few, if any, programs like Kids Quest available in Czech.  Though not openly evangelistic, the drug free program gives churches the opportunity to be a positive witness in their communities.  It is a road to the cross for the children and helps them avoid a life filled with pain and problems that come from drug abuse.  The program gives churches a first contact with schools and children, and makes possible further contacts.

A comic book is distributed at the end of the program which has an invitation to the church's children's club where the Gospel is continually presented.   A pastor in one of the cities reports that 4 children have started to attend regularly as a result of the Kids Quest program in the local school.
