Sami was raised in rural, northern Albania in abject poverty. Seeking a better life, his family moved to the capitol city, Tirana, when Sami was ten years old. It was there that he saw the "Jesus" film. A warm feeling enveloped him as, for the first time, he understood Christ's humility, love, and miracles. Yet, he did not know how to follow Jesus.
Several years later, Sami went to a dentistry school where he met a young man who was a Christian. From him he heard a clear explanation of the gospel. He repented of his sins and put his faith in Christ. The deep emptiness that had plagued him all of his life dissipated. Last year, Sami came to Evangelical Theological College to prepare for ministry. In a chapel service there, Sami testified, "It's a privilege for me to attend this school...this is the place I always wanted to be. My goal in life is to grow in Jesus Christ and to serve Him till the moment I will be with Him forever." God is meeting hungry people like Sami and is raising up workers in Albania to reach that nation with the truth. Information from Kurt Plagenhoef
