GRUMBULLIMI PROJECT

September 15, 2009

Convoy of Hope Europe along with a group of Master's Commission students came to Fushe Kruja, Albania to minister to 17 very poor families in a depressed area called Grumbullimi.  The team worked hard daily, removing 25 truckloads of transh, repaired the dilapidated building in which these families live, constructed bathrooms, and painted.  Each day they visited families, prayed for those in need, and shared the Good News and love of Christ.  The children were especially touched by the team, and the day the team left, the children wept.

An orphan boy named David was visiting his extended relatives at Grumbullimi the week that the team was there.  His dismal circumstances touched the heart of the team.  Through their financial support, he was able to be placed in a Christian orphanage where he is now thriving.

After the outreach to Grumbullimi, Kurt and Staphenia Plagenhoef, our AGWM personnel in Albania, heard amazing testimony from several of the men who came to church.  "The presence of God swept through the apartment building, room by room.  We all heard a voice compassionately weeping over us and knew that someone was there looking at us.  We recognized that it was Jesus.  We did not see anything with our physical eyes, but we knew that it was him.  He was there, looking over us, caring for us, weeping over our suffering, poverty and hardships.  We knew that those who came to help us were ambassadors of Christ and that Christ was with us."  The Plagenhoefs, Convoy of Hope, and Master's Commision are privileged to represent Christ, not only in word, but in deed through acts of compassion.
