An evangelistic outreach, The Way of the Cross, was held at the Keerpunt Church in Amsterdam over the recent Easter weekend. More than 700 people attended the three performances and saw a powerful visual presentation of the sacrifice of Jesus. Several new people attended church Sunday morning after seeing the play, and many more were impacted by the message.
 
This production was a great demonstration of the potential ministry outreach of the church building. The congregation stepped out in faith last year to purchase a former party theater, complete with stage, lighting, sound system, commercial kitchen, etc.  Throughout the process prior to the performances, several key individuals voiced hesitation and doubt over going through with the event.  After the production was finished, these same people apologized for their lack of faith and everyone was thrilled with how well it all turned out.
 
The event was sponsored by Teen Challenge Netherlands and Third Millennium Mission, but most of the work was done by the members of the church. AGWM missionary personnel, Doug Raught, designed and coordinated the building of the sets plus acted as advisor for the other elements (lights, special effects, audio, etc.). When Pastor Jan Barendse acknowledged Doug for his contribution he said, "Thank you to the Assemblies of God for sending you to us!"
