| Church Growth in Serbia-Montenegro |

Since
becoming a nation in 2003, Serbia-Montenegro has struggled
to rise out of the ashes of the former Yugoslavia.
According to Grady and Janet Smalling, missionaries
to Europe, relief funds provided by U.S. churches
and individuals for the nation's internally displaced
people have resulted in open doors for ministry and
church growth. Congregations in Kraljevo and Podgorica
have outgrown their meeting places.
Relief
efforts started last December, followed by a Convoy
of Hope outreach in early 2004. Since then 10 new families
have been added to the church in Kraljevo. Pastored
by Sasha Vitakic, this church is the only Pentecostal
work in the city of 100,000 people. When Vitakic went
to Kraljevo in 1997, no evangelical believers lived
there.
The church in Podgorica is the only
Pentecostal congregation in Montenegro Province. Pastor
Jovica Bacvanski's vision is to send church planters
to help reach the city of 120,000 people and all of
Montenegro for Christ. He is currently mentoring six
young preachers.
Sixty-five Pentecostal churches and
preaching points and 9,000 members and adherents live
in Serbia-Montenegro, a nation of 10.6 million people.
Pray for AG missionary efforts in this part of Europe.
