In recent months, a new building for the children's center in Brno, Czech Republic was opened. The center is focused on work among gypsy children. Three days a week, the center feeds and washes the children. Then they help them with their studies and teach them about Jesus. The police and city government have already taken notice of the program as many children have responded positively and some violence among the different gypsy clans has been reduced. Children from rival clans have learned to love each other and play together as a result of the ministry.
One day a group of these children saw a woman sitting in the park. One of the girls who is about 8 years old went to the woman and started talking with her. She asked if the woman knew about Jesus. The woman replied that she did not believe in God. "How is that possible!" excalimed the little girl as she called the other children around. "We learn about Jesus at the children's center." The little girl then pulled out her pocket New Testament which she had received a the center and started to show the woman all the verses that she had learned. Obviously, the teaching in the center is taking root and producing fruit.
This summer, some of the Gypsy children from the center will attend the church camp along with the Czech children of the church. Also some children will come from the Ukraine and from Israel, making this year's camp truly multi-cultural. May the spiritual destiny of these children be changed as a result.
