AUSTRIAN PENTECOSTALS EMBRACE
AFRICAN CHURCHES

May 9, 2007

Fifteen African churches were welcomed into the Pentecostal Movement of Austria at the end of September. It was a year-long process to make this a reality. AGWM Personnel, Tom Manning, who serves as the Presbyter representing the various branch churches and also serves on the Executive Board sees this as a great step forward in reaching Austria for Christ.

This embracing of ethnic groups is significant as many immigrants are now on European soil. Manning challenged the pastors and leaders in their General Council service to "continue seeing how God is changing Europe, and in these changes, we too must be willing to embrace change. In our unity, God will release an anointing to reach the nations; especially the nation of Austria!"

A result of this move comes the challenge of training and recognizing these ethnic pastors that desire ordination within the Pentecostal Movement. This has involved the development of a training program that will equip future pastors for the work of the ministry. Classes began in October 2006 in the School of Ministry. This is a beginning effort to raise up new pastors and leaders. This also requires the Pentecostal Movement to design an ordination process for potential pastors and leaders.

Manning says, "These are truly amazing days to see what God is doing. In weeks, we are seeing happen what took years in the past. God is fulfilling His promise to build His kingdom in Europe. Europe needs revival, and these advancements will place more workers in the Harvest that are working together to see the multitudes come to Christ!"
