Ever so often, a story stands out as one that clearly shows not only God's provision, but also His plan to "bless the nations" Warsaw, Poland's Capital City Church is one of those stories.
Warsaw, Poland's Capital City Church was founded in 1947 by a group of Pentecostal believers. Though heavily persecuted by the communist regime, they, by the grace of God and sheer determination, survived. In l982, the church leaders petitioned the government for permission to purchase land for a church building. This was unheard of at the time, but they believed it was God's timing. Eventually the government offered the church a piece of property for a church building. It was a small, out of the way piece of land, and located in one of the worst places to build in all of Warsaw. The government considered it merely a worthless piece of land. It was on this land that they built their church, dedicated it, and thanked God for the gift He had given them. Today the church stands on the corner of a main thoroughfare in Warsaw. The church is thriving; reaching the city for Christ. The building also houses the national headquarters of the Polish Pentecostal Church; thus effectively reaching not only a city, but an entire nation for Christ It stands as testimony to the power of God and His plan to bless the nationsl And what of the worthless piece of land? Today, because of its location in Warsaw, it is one of the most valuable pieces of land in all of Poland. From Jim Sabella AGWM Area Director for Central Europe
